I have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. This is my journey. This blog is to communicate my situation to those who care to know; to share what is going on with my treatment, inform, educate and have a space to let it out. I also want to post the good stuff that is happening in my little world despite it all so that I can give the Tulip a magical place where we can share our life and history both past and in the making. Some of that will be here or on the the other blog.

Discovery
In the woods, in a tent
lump found by me
lump found by me
We were camping in the
Blackwoods campground in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island, Maine
when I discovered the lump in my right breast while relaxing in our tent. I
felt a small nodular thing that I hadn’t noticed before and underneath it a
larger thicker mass. Shit. I knew I better get it checked.
The next day, there was a
point when the Tulip had complained of pain in her chest when we were playing
around in the camp. Later that night when she & I went to the nightly
ranger show, she complained again of chest pain. I took her to the ranger
station and they recommend that we take her to the emergency room in Bar
Harbor. We did.
She checked out fine. While we were there I considered asking for emergency mammogram. I didn’t.
